Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) is a close-knit community grounded in Christian beliefs and values. The Direct School Admission (DSA-Sec) selection criteria for PLMGS(Sec) are outlined in the table below.

Student Leadership	Student Leadership	Applicants should demonstrate strong leadership qualities and dispositions, such as: A positive attitude, including perseverance and a mindset of excellence Passion and commitment in their pursuits Confidence in communication The ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team Students should preferably have taken on leadership roles in their primary schools, such as: Prefectorial positions, including Head Prefect or Vice-Head Prefect CCA leadership roles or other equivalent positions of responsibility within the school Other school-wide leadership appointments Applicants should also highlight any leadership involvement in school-wide initiatives or events where they represented their school.	Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a face-to-face selection activity. Selection Activity Applicants will participate in group-based activities designed to assess the leadership qualities and dispositions outlined in the selection criteria. These activities will allow us to observe how candidates interact with others, communicate, and demonstrate initiative and teamwork. Interview (if applicable) Applicants may be invited for an interview as part of the selection process. They are encouraged to bring a hard copy portfolio showcasing their leadership experiences and events they have helped organise in primary school.
Performing Arts	Concert Band Guzheng Harp	Applicants should preferably have: relevant musical achievements, such as certifications from accredited music examination boards or Performance experience at zonal or national platforms (e.g. SYF Arts Presentation, National Music Competition) Applicants should also be able to: Appreciate and enjoy ensemble-style music-making Express an emotional connection to the music during performances Collaborate effectively with others as part of a musical team	Shortlisted students are required to attend a face-to-face audition. Audition Concert Band, Guzheng and Harp students will perform 1 or 2 pieces of music or musical extracts of their own choice Interview (if applicable) Applicants may be invited for an interview as part of the selection process.
Sports	Badminton Netball Rhythmic Gymnastics Swimming Table Tennis Volleyball	Applicants should preferably meet at least one of the following criteria: Represented their school in zonal or national-level competitions in the relevant sport or Are current members of the Junior Sports Academy (JSA) or their school’s sports team	Selection Trials Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend face-to-face selection trials, which will assess a combination of the following: Physical ability Sport-specific technical skills Personal qualities such as teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship Applicants should bring their own sports equipment where applicable. Interview (if applicable) Applicants may be invited for an interview as part of the selection process.

Application Information for DSA-Sec 2025

Applications for DSA-Sec can be submitted via the online DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free of charge and will be open from 7 May 2025 to 3 June 2025 (3 pm).

Applicants who do not have prior experience may also apply. The school will assess applicants based on the selection criteria, which may include assessing the potential of the applicants.

You will receive notification from the school between 2 July 2025 and 16 August 2025, if your child has been shortlisted to undergo Direct School Admission (DSA) selection. All applicants will receive their application outcomes between 25 Aug and 4 Sep 2025.

Shortlisted students who clear the trial or audition will be invited for an interview if applicable. Please note that:
- Being shortlisted or attending an interview does not guarantee an offer.
- Only students who successfully clear the interview will be offered a place.

Students not in MOE mainstream primary schools and not taking the PSLE will be required to sit for placement tests conducted by the school.
- International students should register and participate in the Admission Exercise for International Students (AEIS).

All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their DSA application via email between 25 August 2025 and 4 September 2025.

Students admitted through DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from Secondary 1 to 4/5.

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the school’s academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
